Archiv verlassen und diese Seite im Standarddesign anzeigen : Pipercross open air filter; should I order it??
Today I received a phone call from my dealer; I asked for information about an air filter for the One.
The dealer can deliver a Pipercross air filter (haven't got the type) which will cost 188 euro including mounting.
First of all: Is this suitable for the One; I tought it was only suitable for the Cooper.
Second: Is the price reasonable; what does it cost elsewhere?
Third: Are there better options? Other brand/ type?
You can all reply in german :wink: If you want 8)

I dont now if it is for the ONE, but ask Hein in a PM......he has one in his MINI. The sound is like a F1 car !!!!!
Little update
according to the site http://www.newminisport.com/ it is suitable for the One and Cooper :P
What are the benefits of Raid versus Pipercross....
Well the rumphorst open air filter may be interesting, but including shipment en installing it will cost probably as much as the pipercross. (the dealer will build it in the car, because the pipercross will be build via them the mounting will be cheaper than when I come and let them install a rumphorst open air filter which I bought myself).
And no, I'm not driving to rumphorst to install it :roll:
I don't know if it's important in the Netherlands.
The biggest advantage of the Raid intake, here in Germany is, to get the ok from the "TÜV uncle". :wink:

@ jivecar,
I have the pipercross filter in my cooper and i am very happy with it it sounds like an f1 car. the filter will also fit on an one. I bought it by biesheuvel autosport in nieuwendijk for 112 euro. fitting is very easy. it takes about 10 minutes to put it in. instruktions are included in the kit.
part number is PK122.

Hi guys,
minor correction - the cooper hasnt got the same air intake system as the one. however, they are very very similar. so you the filter will fit in the cooper, it will fit into the one too.

wow:
112 -/- 188 = 76 euro for mounting it.....
So it's easy to install ??? 10 minutes time is not much..... Sliedrecht is very close to me (30km driving.....). What is the dificulty? I real bad in technical things.....
Does biesheuvel has the filter onstock ??
@kc
Tuv doesn't matter here! :P
@snakephil
Will it fit as easy as on a cooper (as @hein). 10 minutes is not that long to do it yourself....

I've got the original JCW intake kit, also made by pipercross.
Advantage over the pipecross one is a more direct intake; the origianal rubber 'S' bend is replaced by a new direct one for a less resticted air flow.
It's also bigger than the pipercross filter.
Downside is that its more expensive, but it does sound wicked !

@Eric
First of all, register :wink:
Second of all, I haven't seen you driving in or nearby Breda; what kind of MINI do you drive??
Then ontopic:
Did you order the jcw kit directly from GB or did you order it in the Netherlands.... I do like the pipercross filter; but looking at the price and the ease of installing I think I will take a pipercross filter instead of the jcw intake kit.

Sure, I'll register, just wanted to reply quickly.
The JCW is not the same as the Pipercross one, but it is MADE by Pipercross and comes in a pipercross box.
It comes with a new connection piece so you don't need the S shaped original bit. It just looks a bit better and the air flow is less restricted.
But it is more expensive as you pay for the name.
I bought them at the JCW garage last year (6 in total) as I visit England regularly.
BTW, I'm driving a week old blue/white Cooper with X-lite wheels and all the extras. It's my second Cooper.

You & bart ordered the pipercross via Hein via biesheuvel motorsport didn't you????
I called biesheuvel friday; in a week and half they will go to england to get some....
I think I like the pipercross above the jcw version; easier mounting, less costing same sound....

Allright, you moaners, I've registered ! :wink:
And yes, I traded my okt. 2001 Cooper in for a new Cooper.
Couldn't wait for the S, it takes forever when you order one now. (up to 12 months if you want a 2003 model)
Maybe next year.
The 2003 Cooper, I must admit, feels a lot more grown up than the early ones. Most niggles and loads of other teething problems have been sorted now. (touch wood)
And you get a handy fridge with it now !
Blue white Cooper
Chilli Pack
Alu dash
X-lite wheels
Air Con

Chrom design bits

WELCOME ON BOARD!
@eric
Welcome to Mini2.info !!!
Why trading in a okt 2001 cooper for a v2003 cooper???? He can't be worn out after 1,5 year.........
Well; I will see if I spot you @ Breda.......Can I diretly hear the jcw kit.....
Thanks all of you, for a warm welcome !
Jivecar, you'll have to wait a bit. I like to run the car in before I put the kit back on. There's only 400 km on this one.
As to why I got a new Cooper, well:
Geld moet rollen, daarom hebben ze het rond gemaakt ! :D
Cheers all !
@Eric,
OK; I will wait.....wait......wait..... don't you have any more kilometers yet?? I did the 2K is little less than a month :wink:
Do you live in Breda or nearby?? Personaly I don't live in Breda but in a small village besides Breda.... But I come pretty often in and around Breda so I keep on watching.
Me black MINI one with a little red/white MINI on the dashboard (thanks to Quicksilver :wink: ). And how it looks like: see banner :lol:
